Dress Dilemma

Okay, so here's the dilemma. Which dress should I keep? I have to go to a party for Tony's school being finished and it is formal -- like cocktail party formal. So... the black dress is crinolin, strapless, with little black peekaboo netting underneath. It was $60, really $120 but I got it half off because it was on the wrong rack, so I had to get it tonight to get that price.

This is the other dress. It is red/pink-ish and can be worn with or without the straps. It was $40 at H&M. The fabric is a thick cotton with a lining underneath and you can see the satin trim on it too. If I wore it to this party I would wear it without the straps.

Some extra notes that add to my dilemma. Part of me leans toward the red dress because it is cheaper and I have more occasions to wear it to down the road. It can be dressed down or up. I feel like with the black one I have to wait for the special occasion to come up to wear it to. And I'm thinking that down the road when something special comes up I will be able to afford to go out and get something at that point. Wondering if I should save my money now??

Anyone have an opinion?

the black one...i think the red/pink one isn't cocktail party enough (it looks like something you could just wear to church)

I say wear one to start, then about halfway through the party, change into the other. Then, if anyone notices and asks about it, just tell them you're practicing your diva-ness for your upcoming status as a doctor's wife. :)

Yes, Bethany, a lot of help you are... :) On a serious note, do you have any practical thoughts on this? :)

Here's my thought...do the black one because like bekah said, the red one doesn't look as fancy...plus, there will be other parties like this in the future...since you are married to an "almost" doctor you know!:)But also KEEP the red one because it's cute and was cheap... and again, because you are married to an "almost" doctor, you can afford it!:)your welcome for my help!

Yes! That's the answer I wanted to hear. :) I would love to keep them both. Hmm... Tony liked them both as well, but thought the black would be a good choice for this event. I have a couple more days to decide...

Hmmm- I like them both too! I am thinking of going shopping today or tomorrow- I think I like the black one better. I looks a little fancier. But I say keep them both! You will have occasions for them both I'm sure. : ) Love Mo
