Tony's cousin, Becca, watched the kids at the mall play area yesterday while I promoted our Extreme Makeover Event from the mall booth. Kaiya and Kaleb both enjoyed playing and Kaiya made some friends while she was there. She had been playing with two Hispanic girls and at one point ran over to Becca and said, "I am calling them Indians and I am the Sailor." She had just watched Pocahontas that morning. Nice. Disney is teaching my child about different skin colors. I think it is time to intervene.

oh yeah. Last night at the diiner table, Cassie was telling us how her friend from school was looking at her hand and rubbing it and told her she would be rich. I just looked at her for a minute and said, Cassie who is in control of your future? She answered, God. I said only HE knows what your future holds.She then said, oh. I don't think she really knows, it must be a mexican thing. OH MY.
I have no idea where she would have heard such a comment, but we then had a discussion about things that you should NOT say.:)
Just wait 'til Kaiya meets our little "Indian"! =)
