Threading

So Monday night I went and got a pedicure with a friend and Ruthie (who sweetly cuddled Kaiya to sleep while we were relaxing). After the pedicure we were walking through the mall down to the food court for dinner & birthday cake and anIndian woman asked if we wanted to have threading done. I had heard about threading on TV or in a magazine and thought it would be interesting to have done. It was less than $10 so I decided to go ahead and try it. My eyebrows always need help anyway... So I did it. It was was less painful than waxing and she was extremely precise. I still have no idea how she did it. But here is a picture that I found online of the technique. It's not too popular over here in the States, but from what I have read it is taught to young girls in the Middle East like little girls here learn to braid hair. Very common.

West County Mall... next time you are in town, you should do it. If nothing else, then just to say you did it.

Just catching up on your blog. I have always been intrigued by threading. Glad you got to try it. I love being able to read about your family. Thanks for keeping up with this so well. You are a beautiful mommy.

I have no clue what "threading" is....what is it for? Is it like where to place your eyebrows or how to pluck them? Hummmmm, I can't commit to trying it until I find out if it is painful....I'm not into pain....but I do have one or two very grey and very wirey Eyebrow hairs! Remember Grandpa Blackwell's wirey eyebrows! Let's hope mine never get that bushy! ha ha!

No, she actually removes the hair with the threads. She somehow gets each individual hair in between the threads and then holds one end tight and pulls back with the other hair. She removes several hairs at one time -- it's amazing. I'm still confused about it! But it worked!

If you go back and she asks if you want to try "pliering", steer clear.

Just a suggestion...

Love you guys!
